This Commitment Lasts a Lifetime

Keep your love alive—literally—with our couples’ heart screening

A Specialized Focus

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women over age 35:

  • 80 percent of all women have at least one risk factor
  • Women who had high blood pressure or diabetes during pregnancy, chemotherapy, or radiation treatment and those with polycystic ovary syndrome have a higher risk for heart disease
  • 85 percent of all heart disease can be prevented

Our Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center is nationally recognized for our commitment to women’s heart health.  We were the first in the United States to establish a women’s heart center focused on issues unique to women’s heart health.

We recognize that cardiovascular disease in women extends beyond heart attack and stroke. Our cardiologists collaborate with other medical subspecialties to ensure women get the best possible care.

Education and awareness are two of the best defenses we have against heart disease. The Women’s Heart Center team specializes in:

  • Screenings, assessments, and education
  • Heart wellness packages, including a special package for couples
  • Education using the most current prevention strategies
