Advanced breast care services

The Goppert Breast Center provides services ranging from routine checkups to the most sophisticated surgery. Our advanced breast care services include:

  • Computer-aided detection, or CAD, which analyzes mammography images and identifies suspicious lesions to improve breast cancer detection
  • Ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy, which allows doctors to sample breast tissue using a needle instead of performing surgery
  • Genetic counseling and risk assessment through our high-risk breast clinic
  • 3-D guided biopsies

Dedicated breast care specialists

At the Goppert Breast Center, a multidisciplinary team of professionals work together to coordinate patient care:

  • Nurse navigator with patientRadiologists, pathologists, surgeons, and medical oncologists from Saint Luke's Cancer Institute who specialize in the latest imaging, surgical, and diagnostic techniques
  • Board-certified genetic counselors who evaluate patients' family histories and identify genetic risk factors
  • Nurses, nurse practitioners, and technologists who are certified in performing clinical breast exams and mammograms

Breast cancer education and support

Applebee’s International, Inc., granted the Goppert Breast Center a generous gift, which helped establish the women's health library. The center also offers classes to prepare newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families for the journey ahead, as well as breast cancer support services and counseling.
