Spiritual Wellness

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City | Patients & Visitors

Saint Luke's Hospital offers spiritual wellness services to all patients, family members, and staff who wish to receive support. Our chaplains seek to address individual needs while being sensitive to diverse expressions of spirituality.

Saint Luke's chaplains respond to traumas and other emergencies and to referrals and requests for patients and families experiencing among other things:

  • Spiritual and emotional distress
  • Desire for prayer, sacrament, and ritual
  • End-of-life support
  • Coping with loss
  • Special beliefs, religious practices, or cultural concerns important to their care
  • Difficult questions
  • Decisions about treatment

Contact a chaplain

At Saint Luke’s Hospital, emergency or urgent referrals should be called to the Chaplain On Call through the Saint Luke’s Operator. Consults that are not urgent can be entered in to Horizon Clinicals; made by phone to 22180; or made by phone or email to the chaplain assigned to the nursing unit.

Chapel services

The chapel is located on the hospital’s main floor, across from the ATM. It is open 24 hours a day for prayer and meditation.
