Saint Luke's Neurovascular Care

Saint Luke's internationally recognized stroke program is saving lives and providing stroke reversal therapies and treatment to more than 1,000 patients each year.

Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology

Endovascular surgical neuroradiology is a subspecialty that combines the expertise of several specialists who use minimally invasive, catheter-based, and image-guided techniques to diagnose and treat patients with diseases of the head, neck, and spine.

Saint Luke's Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute is the region’s only facility that brings together specialists in:

  • Interventional neuroradiology
  • Interventional neurology
  • Neurosurgery

In the early 1990s, we pioneered intra-arterial treatment for acute stroke. Today, we continue to help develop and test devices like the Merci Retriever, which is used to treat ischemic stroke, and use the most advanced endovascular technology to treat a full range of neurological conditions, including:

  • Aneurysm
  • Carotid artery blockages
  • Congenital blood vessel deformities
  • Stroke - hemorrhagic and ischemic
  • Tumors

Saint Luke’s neurointerventional team is available around the clock and works closely with our team of neurologists and neurosurgeons to chart the best treatment plan for each patient.
