Cancer Rehab

Rehabilitation Services

Saint Luke’s Cancer Survivorship Program helps cancer patients overcome the physical and emotional challenges that often follow cancer diagnosis and treatment. The program is administered by specially trained therapists, nurses, dietitians, and doctors and is supported by the latest research.

We provide our patients with the most comprehensive rehabilitation care available. Most cancer rehabilitation services are reimbursed by health insurance providers. Check your insurance plan for specific rehabilitation benefits.

Evaluating your needs

Rather than using a problem-oriented approach and tackling each health issue as it arises, Saint Luke’s addresses the full spectrum of post-cancer care. In addition to focusing on health conditions and symptoms, we consider all of the factors that impact physical healing when evaluating a patient. These factors include:

  • Diet
  • Emotional outlook
  • Endurance
  • Exercise habits
  • Existing pain
  • Sleep issues
  • Strength

A multidisciplinary approach to rehab

A team of medical specialists is assigned to each patient according to his or her individual needs. Each team member provides expert medical guidance, training, encouragement, and support for the duration of the program. This team creates a personalized rehabilitation plan with the goals of:

  • Increasing strength and energy
  • Alleviating pain
  • Improving physical function
  • Achieving emotional balance
  • Boosting the immune system

A physician referral is required for some services.
