Saint Luke's Care for Physicians

Saint Luke’s Care (SLC) is a physician-led organization dedicated to quality medical care through the use of evidence-based medicine.

Saint Luke’s Care Membership Requirements

All physicians who meet the following requirements will be eligible for voluntary membership:

  • Medical staff privileges in good standing at a Saint Luke’s Health System (SLHS) facility
  • Committed to evidence-based medicine and to utilizing SLC Physician Order Sets, when appropriate to patient’s care
  • Support and participate in clinical data collection and review
  • Agree to participate in SLC-sponsored free CME programs
  • Maintain proficiency in the SLHS clinical information systems
  • Maintain an active email address for SLC communications (email will be kept confidential and used solely for important SLC or SLHS purposes.)

More than 60 percent of SLHS staff physicians have volunteered to be SLC members. SLC communicates with its members via email, newsletters, Evidence-based Practice Team meetings, and informing the board of directors (the SLHS Physician Leadership Group).

Physicians can apply for Saint Luke’s Care membership.

Evidence-based Practice Teams

The work of SLC is accomplished through Evidence-based Practice Teams (EPTs). EPTs exist in the following medical and surgical specialty areas:

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Infectious Disease
  • Medicine
  • Neurosciences
  • Obstetrics
  • Pediatrics
  • Primary Care
  • Radiology
