The Saint Luke's North Hospital Care Van program is a free community service for patients who have no other transportation or who cannot operate a vehicle. The program serves patients in Clay, Clinton, Platte, and Leavenworth counties and provides transportation frompatients' residences or nursing home facilities to the Barry Road and Smithville campuses for outpatient services, physician appointments, or lab services.

Your support of congregational members hospitalized at Saint Luke's North Hospital is vitally important. We hope this information eases your visit and assists your ministry. Clergy parking is available in the hospital parking lot outside the main entrance. If the space is occupied, please use any volunteer space in that row.
A chaplain is available during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for consultation and collaboration with you. If you need assistance in the support of your church member while you are away, please call Spiritual Wellness at 816-880-6419.
Visitors are welcome to dine in the hospital cafeteria located on the first floor of the hospital. You may dine in our cafeteria or request your meal to-go if you would like to return to the patient’s room. To view menu and hours of operation, visit Saint Luke's North Hospital–Barry Road Cafeteria.
Vending machines are located on the first floor outside the cafeteria.
The Saint Luke’s North Hospital Auxiliary Gift Gallery is conveniently located off the main lobby. It provides for many patient needs, including greeting cards, balloons, fresh flowers, gift items, snacks, magazines, and personal items. Deliveries are available.
Proceeds from sales benefit Auxiliary programs, including patient care vans, the Saint Luke’s North Hospital Employee Scholarship Fund and Assistance Fund, as well as the support of various hospital programs, including the 3-D mammography machine, ultrasound machines, wheelchairs, and the remodeling of the Smithville Rehabilitation Unit.

Patient Information & Visitor Guide
All patients are given a Patient Information & Visitor Guide upon check-in. The guide provides a full listing of patient rights & responsibilities; information about advance directives and patient representatives and/or support persons; along with useful information to assist during your stay. You can access the guide in an electronic format (PDF).
The Saint Luke's North Hospital Patient Advocate Department serves as a liaison between patients, their families or representative(s), and the hospital. The Patient Advocate Department collaborates with other hospital leadership and management staff to handle patient and family’s concerns and grievance.
To reach the patient advocate while you are in the hospital, call the hospital operator by dialing “0” or from outside the hospital 816-891-6000. A patient advocate is available between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, or on weekends and holidays, for help with a concern please call the hospital operator by dialing “0” while in the hospital, or 816-880-6000 from outside the hospital and ask for the nursing supervisor. Once your concern is received, we will begin investigating the issue and respond within one business day.

To encourage family and friend involvement, we welcome visitors at all hours. In general, we do not have set hours posted for most of our nursing units. Our Intensive Care Units, Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and Maternity Units may have more specific visiting hours or visitor restrictions.
