Chapel Services and Spiritual Wellness

The chapel is conveniently located off the main lobby, on the hospital’s first floor. The chapel is always open and available to patients and families for prayer, meditation, and solitude. Prayer request cards are available in the Chapel and Surgery Waiting Room, or you may request prayer by calling the chaplain. If you wish to see a chaplain, please call 816-347-4616 or ask your nurse. Chaplains are in-house seven days a week.


  • Episcopal Service of Holy Communion and Prayers for Healing: Wednesdays at 1 p.m. in the chapel and broadcast on channel 21.

Information for visiting clergy and lay ministers
Chaplains are available for consultation and collaboration with clergy. If you are a clergy member and need assistance in the support of your congregational member when you are away, please contact our office at 816-347-4615.

Spiritual Wellness Greeters welcome new patients and provide information about Spiritual Wellness and the pastoral care available from chaplains. For more information, please contact our office at 816-347-4615.


The cafeteria is located on the hospital’s first floor. With fresh food prepared daily, we offer a variety of cold and hot meals, snacks, salad bar, soups, deli sandwiches, and grill items. All visitors are welcome to dine in the cafeteria.

Gift Shop

The Saint Luke’s East Hospital Gift Shop is located off the main lobby. It provides for many patient needs, including greeting cards, fresh flowers, magazines, gift items, and personal items. Artwork from Summit Art can be purchased in the gift shop.

The Gift Shop accepts phone orders for delivery to patients in the hospital. Call 816-347-4646. 

  • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Parking and maps

Patient and visitor parking is available near each campus entrance. Visitors can park in the front parking lot, except in spaces reserved for physicians. Free valet parking is available from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Diagnostic/Medical Office Building, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and North Medical Pavilion entrances. Tips are accepted but not required. Visitors needing keys after 4 p.m. should call security at 816-347-5911.

Patient advocate

The Patient Advocate Department serves as a liaison between patients, their families or representative(s), and the hospital. The patient advocate transcends departmental lines and interacts with staff at all levels within the organization.

To reach the patient advocate while you are in the hospital, call the hospital operator by dialing “0” or from outside the hospital 816-347-5000. A patient advocate is available between the hours of 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, or on weekends and holidays, for help with a concern please call the hospital operator by dialing “0” while in the hospital, or 816-347-5000 from outside the hospital and ask for the nursing supervisor. Once your concern is received, we will begin investigating the issue and respond within one business day.

Patient and Family Advisory Council

The council is a diverse group of patients and family members who meet regularly with hospital staff to discuss ways to enhance the patient care experience and promote quality, effective health safe in a safe environment.

Visiting guidelines

To encourage family and friend involvement, we welcome visitors at all hours. In general, we do not have set hours posted for most of our nursing units. Our Intensive Care Units, Neonatal Intensive Care Units, and Maternity Units may have more specific visiting hours or visitor restrictions.
