Pituitary Disorders

Diabetes & Endocrinology

The pituitary gland is often referred to as the master gland of the body because it regulates many activities of other endocrine glands. It also controls many biochemical processes that support overall wellbeing. Pituitary disease causes too much or too little production of essential hormones, and though there are many causes, the most common are pituitary tumors. Pituitary tumors are usually non-cancerous and can be easily removed with minimally invasive surgery.
