  • How do I decide between the three surgeries?

Gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, or gastric bypass? Patients have choices – and our surgeons discuss the shared decision making between patient and physician. (Geoffrey C. Slayden, M.D., G. Brent Sorensen, M.D., John M. Price, M.D.)

  • Why is seminar attendance important?

Saint Luke’s offers monthly seminars at all four of our metro hospitals. Our surgeons discuss why attendance a requirement prior to the first office visit. (G. Brent Sorensen, M.D., John M. Price, M.D., Michael R. Arroyo, M.D.)

  • How will my quality of life improve?

Dramatic weight loss affects more than just clothing size! Our surgeons talk about some of their patients’ experiences. (Michael R. Arroyo, M.D., Geoffrey C. Slayden, M.D., G. Brent Sorensen, M.D.)

Our treatment options include:

  • Gastric banding surgery: This adjustable, reversible surgery requires no cutting, stapling, or stomach rerouting.
  • Gastric bypass surgery: "The gold standard" of weight-loss surgery helps you lose more weight faster.
  • Sleeve gastrectomy: This irreversible surgery removes 85 percent of the stomach.
  • Revisions of failed weight loss surgery
