Thanks to advances in remote monitoring technology, Saint Luke's Home Care staff members are able to keep close tabs on patients' health anywhere, any time. For example:
- Each of our clinicians carry devices to monitor patients' oxygen saturation and anticoagulation therapy.
- Staff can access and update patients' medical records electronically using laptops. Saint Luke's was the first home care provider in Kansas City to use electronic medical records.
- Saint Luke's Home Care & Hospice was the first Kansas City provider to remotely monitor patients' progress using telehealth technology
Philips Lifeline is an easy-to-use medical alert service that was designed to help promote independence in the home for those who live alone. If a patient should fall or have an emergency, he or she just presses a button on a special necklace, bracelet, or wristwatch. This alerts a trained personal response associate who can send help quickly—any time day or night.
