Monitoring Technology

Home Care and Hospice

Thanks to advances in remote monitoring technology, Saint Luke's Home Care staff members are able to keep close tabs on patients' health anywhere, any time. For example:

  • Each of our clinicians carry devices to monitor patients' oxygen saturation and anticoagulation therapy.
  • Staff can access and update patients' medical records electronically using laptops. Saint Luke's was the first home care provider in Kansas City to use electronic medical records.
  • Saint Luke's Home Care & Hospice was the first Kansas City provider to remotely monitor patients' progress using telehealth technology

Philips Lifeline

Philips Lifeline is an easy-to-use medical alert service that was designed to help promote independence in the home for those who live alone. If a patient should fall or have an emergency, he or she just presses a button on a special necklace, bracelet, or wristwatch. This alerts a trained personal response associate who can send help quickly—any time day or night.
