CardioScan Can Help Identify Heart Disease Risk

New research shows plaque buildup in the arteries of people between ages 32 and 46 can signal increased heart attack risk. “This stuff is imminently preventable—we’ve just got to know when it’s there,” said James O’Keefe, M.D., of Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute. “When it is there it festers for years or decades before it blows up with a heart attack or a stroke."  Local media spoke to Dr. O'Keefe about the CardioScan, a painless test that is needle-free and can help measure the risk through rapid images.
