- Course Description

- This is a 12-month program providing both clinical and didactic training. The intern will be trained in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures, as well as limited training in ultrasound vascular imaging. Common procedures include, but are not limited to: venous access, hemodialysis fistula, graft evaluation. Angiography, visceral as well as neuro, Biliary and urinary procedures. Upon completion the intern will be eligible to sit for the Vascular Interventional Boards.
- Program Hours
- Clinical and didactic hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The didactic time will primarily be self-study with some class time included. Study areas will include neuro and body anatomy, patient care, pharmacology, transjugular biopsy and drainage procedures, neuro-interventional and body interventional procedures.
- Entry Requirements for the IR Internship Program
- Applicants must be graduates of an accredited radiologic program (a minimum of two years in length) and be eligible for or have passed the radiography registry. Successful intern candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:
• Registered by A.R.R.T.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Prior Clinical Experience
• Interview Score
• Foreign Student Policy
