Meet our Chaplain |
 |
- Tom Hawley, M.Div., LCSW has been an ordained minister since 1985, and a licensed social worker since 1990. He has training in clinical pastoral education, and is a fellow member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Visiting Clergy |
 |
- Visits from a patient's "home clergy" are generally encouraged and welcomed. All visitors should be added to the patient's confidential call/visit list, approved by the patient's guardian and therapist.

Services Available |
 |
- Christian worship services for residential patients are offered weekly. Clergy from other religious groups will be sought upon the request of patients and guardians. Other residential groups include trauma & loss groups, youth group/discussion groups, Bible Study, individual prayer/reflection time, and occasional outings. Values and Spirituality Groups are held weekly on each hospital unit.

Hospital Chapel |

- The chapel is located directly across from the front desk, and is available for prayer and meditation at all hours.

Contact the Chaplain |
 |
- Patients may request a visit from the chaplain by telling any direct-care giver, or by filling out a prayer request form, located on their unit, which also contains a space for requesting a visit with the chaplain. Family may contact the chaplain by calling his office through the main number: 816-765-6600.
- When to call on the chaplain:
- When struggling with loss
- When struggling with doubt
- When struggling with questions of despair and hope
- When struggling with questions of why
- When wanting to deepen your religious or spiritual values and understandings
- When struggling with issues of rejection and abandonment, and feeling alone
