Members of our Transplant Team care about you and your family. We are there not only to meet your medical
needs but also to address the emotional and spiritual needs you and your family will have during the course of treatment.
In addition to our skilled doctors, our team also includes transplant coordinators, transplant nurses, behavior therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, therapists, clergy, and financial counselors.
- Randy A. Brown, M.D.,
is Medical Director of the BMT program. Previously he was Medical Director of the BMT program at the University of Kentucky,
and prior to that was a faculty physician at Barnes Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Brown completed training
in Hematology and Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis in 1982 and trained with Geoff Herzig, M.D., a pioneer in the field of blood and marrow t. Since 1982, Dr.
Brown has performed more than 1,000 transplants, including autologous transplants, matched sibling donor
- Rakesh Gaur, M.D., is
Chief of Medical Oncology at Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute and treats patients in the BMT program. Dr.
Gaur completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology and received additional fellowship training in Bone Marrow and
Stem Cell Transplantation at Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. He is principal investigator for
the Kansas City Clinical Oncology Program and is the Research Director for Specialists in Cancer Care.
