- Nurse Practitioner
Erin Shonkwiler, R.N., A.P.R.N.-B.C., A.O.C.N. is the nurse practitioner for our team as well as the clinical nurse specialist for Saint Luke's Cancer Institute. Erin holds a B.S. in biology from Truman State University, a B.S.N. from Saint Louis University and a M.S.N. from Duke University. Erin teaches end-of-life nursing education classes to nursing staff and patient care technicians at Saint Luke's. Erin is very active with the Oncology Nursing Society locally and nationally and lectures nationally on a variety of topics. Erin enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, music and scrapbooking.
- Social Worker
Nicole Gibbs, L.M.S.W., holds a B.A. from Bowling Green State University and a M.S.W. from the University of Michigan. Nicole has received national specialized palliative care training for social workers from the National Cancer Institute's grant-funded ACE project and City of Hope's Promoting Excellence in Pain Management and Palliative Care for Social Workers. Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, watching reality television shows and movies, reading and is a fanatic football fan cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and Kansas City Chiefs.
- Chaplain
Rev. Dr. Marc Giedinghagen, holds a B.A. from Sterling College, M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary and a D.Min. in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Boston University School of Theology. Marc is also a certified full supervisor in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and teaches pastoral/spiritual care giving to chaplain residents and interns at Saint Luke's Hospital. Marc is married and has two sons. He enjoys gardening, golf, tennis and is a big Kansas University basketball fan.
