| Library:
Library resources are available to students at the Health Sciences
Library. Students of Saint Luke's College are also eligible for library
privileges at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Health Science
Library. |
| Learning
Resource Center: The LRC is comprised of a Nursing Skills Laboratory
and a Computer Laboratory. The Nursing Skills Laboratory provides
a simulated clinical setting for students to practice, review, and
update their skills. In the Computer Lab there are a variety of computer
programs as well as e-mail and Internet access. The LRC staff provides
a variety of services to assist individual students or groups. The
LRC hours are determined each semester by class schedule and student
need. |
Counseling:
Saint Luke's College maintains a Counseling Program which provides
professional assistance to students. The Counseling Program has its
foundation in the College philosophy which recognizes that each person
is unique. Individual and group counseling methods are utilized to
facilitate the growth and development of students. |
| Academic
Advising: Students are assigned to a faculty member for academic
advising when they are admitted to the College. Advisors approve courses
and schedules for registration each term and provide assistance with
course sequencing and selection of electives. Students are encouraged
to contact their advisors for help with academic problems and personal
and social adjustments to the College and nursing program. |
| Health
Services: Saint Luke's College students may utilize the Saint
Luke's Hospital Employee Health Service for minor ailments or emergencies.
However, students are required to provide their own health care insurance
coverage. |
| Student
Organizations and Activities: Students enrolled in the College
are members of the Saint Luke's College Student Nurses' Association.
The organization promotes personal and professional development and
serves as an avenue for student input into programs and policies of
the College. Students are eligible for membership in the National
Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) upon admission to the College. |
| Transportation:
Students are responsible for providing their own transportation to
all classes and clinical sites. |
