Academic Prerequisites:
    Academic Prerequisites listed are the minimums for consideration. Admission is competitive for a maximum of 8 positions opening each July. Most admitted students meet and exceed requirements.

Overview
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientists, also called Medical Technologists, are scientists who perform laboratory tests that provide essential information for diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Requirements include a strong college background in chemistry and biology and clinical training in Microbiology, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank, Immunology and Molecular Diagnostics.  CLS/MT professionals are employed in hospitals, physician offices and reference labs.  Some pursue careers in sales, research, computer systems or technical product development.

Estimated Fees
  • Tuition: $3000
  • Books: $600
  • Tuition and book fees are payable at entry. Reference books and laboratory coats are loaned to students free of charge.
  • Financial Aid is not available through the CLS Program.  Undergraduate students may obtain financial aid through the college/university. Graduate students are encouraged to apply for scholarships offered annually throughout the state and nation.
