Program Overview: An 18-month program that includes both academic and clinical training in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonography .

About Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Diagnostic medical sonographers, also known as ultrasonographers , use special equipment to direct nonionizing, high frequency sound waves into areas of the patient`s body. Sonographers operate the equipment, which collects reflected echoes and forms an image that may be videotaped, transmitted, or photographed for interpretation and diagnosis by a physician.   • Clinical and academic schedules are based on 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Classes are held daily.

Course Description
  • This 18-month program includes both academic and clinical training in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonography. The 18 months will be spent at a variety of imaging sites; and the student will be exposed to a wide range of "state of the art" equipment, and a large volume of clinical cases. More

Educational Requirements
  • Applicants must be students or graduates of a 2-year Allied Health Program, a Registered Nurse or Registry Eligible, a Registered Physical Therapist or Registry Eligible, a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible.

    Registries must be completed prior to Program start date.

    All applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0

    Also eligible are Graduates with a 4-year Bachelors degree in a science related field . More

Estimated Fees
  • Application Fee: $25 non-refundable
  • Tuition: $4500
  • Books: $1000 (approx) - includes SDMS, SVT, GKCSU membership
  • ARDMS Exams: $1000
  • Matriculation Fee:  $ 100.00
