Childbirth Preparation - Expectant parents learn about preparing for childbirth, comfort skills for labor and birth, pain relief, special procedures, and postpartum adjustment. Includes a tour of the Birthing Center. Register for a Newborn Care class at no additional charge.
Two-week series meets on Saturdays from 9am-12noon
Four-week series meets weekday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.
One-day session meets on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Childbirth On the Go
Basics of childbirth preparation are reviewed in a DVD presentation, that is yours to keep. Attend one 3.5 hour interactive childbirth preparation class.
- Newborn Care - Information is given regarding baby care basics, safety, and common concerns that new families may have as they welcome a new family member. One session meets weekday evenings for two hours. Free if taking a childbirth preparation class
- Breastfeeding - Learn the basics needed for successful nursing. Fathers and other support person are encouraged to attend. One session
- Sibling Class - Emphasizes the role of the older sibling and ways to welcome the new baby. Includes a tour of the Mother/Baby unit. Appropriate for children ages 3 to 9 years.One session.
- Baby Sing and Sign - Just because babies can't talk yet, doesn't mean you can't communicate with them. Baby Sing and Sign is more than just teaching sign language. This play-based approach combines rich musical experiences with baby sign, utilizing materials that are readily at hand. Ideal for parents, grandparents/caregivers and anyone actively involved in the early years of a child's life. Recommended for babies and toddlers 6 to 18 months. 4 sessions
- Baby Sing and Sign Refresher - For those parents and babies who have attended the original Baby Sing and Sign, and just want a refresher course to fine tune their skills. 4 sessions
- Aqua Moms - Specifically designed for expecting and new moms. Increases strength and energy while reducing fatigue and low back pain. Doctor release is required. 20 sessions
- Parent & Tot Aqua - Explore the water as a safe and fun environment for you and your child. In-water participation is required for parent or guardian. Water activities progress on individual readiness. Pre-registration is required at the start of each new course. For children ages 1 to 3. 9 sessions
- Maximizing Brain Development - The First Three Years of Life - The majority of brain development occurs during the prenatal period and the first three years of life. Research shows that our early experiences can dramatically affect the architecture of the growing brain. Please join us to learn how to make a difference for the children in your life. One two-hour session.
- CPR-Infant-Child - Learn basic life support (BLS) skills. Following American heart Association guideline: This course teaches BLS for birth to 8 years. Includes injury, poison prevention and choking. 1 session
- Infant Child First Aid: What to Do in an Emergency - This course will discuss prevention and how to avoid medical emergencies. Included will be hands-on first aid stations with real life scenarios for practice so that you will know what to do in an emergency.
- Safe Sitter - Safe Sitter Basic is a medically accurate, hands-on, class that teaches boys and girls ages 11-13 how to handle emergencies while caring for children. This class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skill and appropriate response to medical emergencies. Babysitting business skills and safety for the sitter are also taught in this one day class. The class is taught by a certified Safe Sitter Instructor. This class can be brought to your organization
- Breastfeeding Support Group -Join other breastfeeding mothers and their babies to share experiences, encourage each other, and get professional support from an experienced Lactation Consultant. Check hospital location you plan to attend for specific days and times.
- New Parent Exchange Groups -
Come join other parents to share experiences, encourage each other and hear about a variety of topics related to parenting. This group is facilitated by an experienced educator. Check hospital location you plan to attend for specific days and times.
