- Vermont Oxford Network (VON) - A program based on collaborative data aimed at reducing the incidence of retinopathy of prematurity by closely regulating oxygen saturation in extremely low birth weight infants.
- SeeMore Program - PediQUiC–A collaborative group of NICUs who meet twice yearly to review best demonstrated practice, develop quality improvement initiatives, and share data. The goal is to improve care of newborns.
- Participation in the Pediatrix Center for Research and Education
- Reduction of antibiotic usage - to promote the judicious use of antibiotics in infants in the NICU
- Random Safety Audits-ongoing review of medical care to ensure continued attainment of safety goals set by the NICU
- Ongoing monitoring of NICU outcomes including incidence of chronic lung disease, ROP, intracranial hemorrhage, infection and surgical outcomes
- Ongoing quality assurance for skills of NICU staff includes Neonatal Resuscitation Program,
PICC line safety, RN educational modules, and Balanced Score Cards.
