Risk Factor Self Assessment - Answers

Question #6: Menopause is considered a potential risk factor for ALL women.

True: Due to the lack of effective circulating estrogen at the time of menopause, changes in blood cholesterol levels and blood pressure are often noted, leading to cardiovascular health issues over time. While replacement hormone therapy is not for all women, aggressive cardiovascular risk factor management and communication with a health care provider is very important at menopause and beyond.
