- What is VO2 Max?
VO2 Max is the maximum volume of oxygen that the body consumes during intense, whole-body exercise. It is a measure of the body's ability to do work both aerobically and anaerobically.
- How is VO2 Max measured?
VO2 Max is measured by a stress test that measures your body's oxygen consumption during various forms of exercise. In our laboratory, you have a choice of running on a treadmill or riding on a bicycle ergometer.
The achievement of anaerobic threshold is dependent on your fitness level, and your particular training routine.
VO2 Max is expressed asa rate in milliliters per kilogram of body weight per minute (ml/kg/min).
