Physical Therapy |
 |
- Overall muscle weakness, low or high muscle tone, poor motor planning abilities, impaired cognition, decreased ability to learn new skills, and difficulty with body awareness in space are among the reasons very young children may require physical therapy.
- Sessions focus on facilitating age appropriate gross motor skills such as the ability to roll over, sit independently, crawl, stand, walk, run, jump, stand on one leg, hop, skip, and bounce and catch a ball.
- Therapy activities involve strengthening exercises, stretching tight muscles, and learning new gross motor skills through ‘play’.
- In addition parents are educated on how to continue stimulating gross motor development through home activities.
