Occupational Therapy |
 |
- Therapy focuses on facilitating visual-motor skills, fine motor skills and on self-care in children who do not follow the usual patterns of development.
- Sessions may focus on developing an appropriate grasp for a child with high or low muscle tone, eating solid foods for a child with a severe feeding aversion, and/or tolerating touch in tactilely defensive children.
- Each child has an individual treatment plan created according to evaluation results and their particular medical diagnosis.
-
Parents are encouraged and taught to continue both therapeutic and behavioral goals at home. It is important to address these fundamental skills early to maximize each child’s functional ability as well as to prepare them for their next school experience.
