Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health care profession that promotes a person's independence and well-being through functional and purposeful activities. Occupation is defined as anything a person does during daily life to occupy their time. OT is a unique profession that addresses mental and physical disabilities in all populations. People who may benefit from OT include those who have diagnoses such as:
  • stroke
  • heart disease or pulmonary disorders
  • deconditioning
  • hip fracture or replacement
  • injuries and surgeries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand
  • wounds and burns
  • carpal tunnel and de Quervain's Syndrome
  • sprains, strains, tendentious or fractures
  • edema
  • arthritis
  • Parkinson's Disease or other neurological disorders
  • low vision and other daily life or self-care impairments
  • upper extremity joint replacement
