- 1906 - Originally known as Saint Luke's Hospital Club, Cabot was founded by 11 women to care for sick children. The 4-bed ward included a free bed for children whose parents couldn't pay for hospital care.

- 1911 - With the support of William Rockhill Nelson and community contributions, free open-air summer camps were established and operated until 1927.

- 1915 - Free pediatric, prenatal, obstetrical and nose and throat clinics were established at 1841 W. Pennway.

- 1918 - Saint Luke's Hospital Club changed its name to the Saint Luke's Child Welfare Club. The club assumed the responsibility for issuing birth certificates for all babies born in Kansas City.
- 1921 - The Saint Luke's Child Welfare Club began serving adults of the Westside.
- 1922 - The Saint Luke's Child Welfare Club purchased the property at 721 W. 18th Street for $3,500.

- 1923 - The St. Luke's Child Welfare Club incorporated and changed its name to The Richard Cabot Club.
- 1945 - At the request of the Board of Education, The Richard Cabot Club began a dental clinic for Westside schools.

- 1951 - Residents and interns from Saint Luke's Hospital began to practice at The Richard Cabot Club.
