Saint Luke’s North Hospital’s rehabilitation services include inpatient and outpatient therapy programs staffed by a team of highly-trained physical, occupational, and speech language pathologists. Our therapists provide a continuum of inpatient and outpatient care to patients, using evidence-based techniques and the newest technologies. We work one-on-one with patients—from childhood through their senior years.

Inpatient rehabilitation

Rehab services are provided as-needed to hospitalized patients, including patients in the medical/surgical unit, intensive care (ICU), and patients in the Hip & Knee Center program. Therapists partner with the patient and the multidisciplinary team to create patient-centered treatment plans.

In addition, Saint Luke’s North Hospital’s Smithville campus features an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit for adult patients recovering from stroke, trauma, brain or spinal cord injuries, and other conditions requiring 24/7 therapy.

The majority of serious knee injuries in female athletes are non-contact, occurring in sports that involve pivoting, cutting, or jumping. Saint Luke's Northland Hospital's Injury Prevention Program uses neuromuscular training, which not only increases muscular power and jump height, but also decreases impact forces at the knees, reducing the risk of injury.
