As a skull base neurosurgeon, Dr. Milligan uses specialized knowledge, surgical approaches, and medical therapies to enhance patient safety and outcomes for those affected with complex problems located within the brain and at the boundary between the brain and the eyes, face, and neck. When coupled with advanced brain monitoring techniques, modern surgical tools, and dedicated neurosurgical operating room personnel at Saint Luke’s, Dr. Milligan is able to provide safe, comprehensive, and complete neurosurgical care.
Dr. Milligan grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and attended St. Thomas Aquinas. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Kansas before completing his medical training at Stanford University. He trained in Neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and completed the Clinician-Investigator training program during that time. He then went on to skull base surgery fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University, where he received subspecialty training under Dr. Johnny Delashaw focusing on brain tumors, acoustic tumors, pituitary tumors, cerebral aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations (AVM).
